About my CEED in UK
Spending time at the AIESEC in UK office, Crondall Street, London, UK...
My CEED is turning to its end here in London. Time has really went so fast. It's amazing... As long as you have always something to do the days will pass so fast that you don't even realize... That's what has happened to me here in London. Maybe I'll describe briefly what I have been doing here in London...
First of all for the once who are not AIESEC members and don't know what a CEED is: CEED is a kind of a traineeship inside of AIESEC. In my CEED I have came here to the national committee of AIESEC in United Kingdom to work under External Relations altogether for 6-7 weeks. Now I'll go briefly through what I have been doing here and what I have experienced and learned...
1st week:
I flew to London on Monday on 5.3.2007. The first week I was just getting to know my collegues, how they work here and how things are done. I didn't got so much done during the first week. I have to admit that coming to UK was a bit of cultural shock for me. Somehow everything was so different, there wasn't again anyone around me who I would have known and I didn't even understand everything the people were talking... At the end of the first weekend I was also facilitating a conference of presentation skills in Southampton. That was a really cool and challenging experience for me! My first conference in UK! :)
2nd week:
During the second week we left on Tuesday to WENALDS which is an international AIESEC conference focused for members who have been around 6-12 months in the organization and are about to take a leadership position. This year (It was the first WENALDS ever) WENALDS was held in Wales. So as there was about to be some external people in WENALDS, my collegue/supervisor Aled who is responsible of external relations in the national committee went there. Therefore I went too. WENALDS was a really cool conference for me for two reasons:
1st: It was a cool conference
2nd: I didn't really had a role there so I was just following and helping the work of OC and facis and taking randomly part to some interesting sessions. I also got to meet some externals in the conference behind the scenes...
On the way to WENALDS we also did an LC visit in Bristol. That was cool as I got to see the elections of the new EB (Executive Board) or AIESEC in Bristol and also a bit of the city of Bristol itself...
3rd week:
During the third week we (me, Aled and the elected national team of AIESEC in UK) travelled to Serbia for EuroXPRO conference. EuroXPRO was a conference which was focused for the people who were going to work for the national committees of AIESEC in Europe and North America. It was a really cool conference but maybe I'll write more about that another time...
4th week:
During the 4th week I was working a bit with this and that. During the weekend there was actually a conference held in London where I was facilitating again... This conference was about facilitating, training and coaching skills. It was not such a challenging experience for me to faci but still a very cool one!
5th week:
This is the fifth week. During this week I am going to work under few projects... More about that later...
That's about that by now...
