Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Just a couple of hours back I arrived to Helsinki from my hometown Varkaus where I spent four days over the Christmas. Tomorrow I will be leaving already onwards to Berlin to see my girlfriend Natascha.
Always the night before traveling I get this philosophical mood. It's a bit similar mood as one has usually after six beers:) I think that related to traveling this mood might have something to do with breaking daily routines...
One of the nicest Christmas greetings this Christmas I got from a person who I didn't expect to send one to me. This greeting came from Fahimeh, an Iranian girl I got to know during my studies in Berlin. She sent a brief not added with a picture from New Year's Eve year back from Berlin. That picture was like a time machine: it totally brought me back to that specific evening in Berlin. That evening was one of those moments that one does not think to be very special but which one only recognizes to have been special later on. Maybe you know such moments? Last New Year's Eve I was taking Fahimeh to the Berlin train station around 01:00 with a couple of friends. Then I thought that it's kind of not a good idea to travel at that hour on that day. But now I think that that will be one of the most memorable New Year's Eve ever:) Why? Well, just because it was so different.
Maybe as a conclusion I could draw from here that doing extraordinary, even small things, in ones daily life might provide one with memories to look back to in years to come. So for year 2008 I recommend doing things a bit differently, doing every day something a bit different or doing every day something new. That's already a challenge for the whole year!
Enjoy the end of 2007 and all the best for 2008!
